Bursting with sweet-tart intensity, these kumquats are grown on the lush hinterland of Myokum in the Northern Rivers. Unlike any other citrus, kumquats are eaten whole, skin and all, with the peel delivering a bright sweetness that perfectly offsets the tangy flesh inside. Seasonally harvested and picked at peak ripeness.
In the Kitchen Slice and toss into salads for a punchy citrus hit, simmer into marmalade or chutney, candy whole for a stunning dessert garnish, or muddle into cocktails and shrubs. Gorgeous halved and slow-roasted with honey and thyme alongside duck or pork. Try them blitzed into a kumquat curd or preserved in salt for a Moroccan-inspired condiment.
Medicinal & Nutritional Uses Rich in vitamin C, fibre, and antioxidants including flavonoids and limonene. The edible peel is high in essential oils traditionally used to support digestion, respiratory health, and immune function. In Chinese medicine, kumquats are used to relieve coughs and soothe the throat. Their anti-inflammatory compounds also support skin health.
Storage Keep at room temperature for up to 1 week, or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks. They also freeze beautifully whole. Simply wash, dry, and freeze on a tray before transferring to a bag.
